This event is open to everyone and for the first time in 50 years members of his squad and platoon that lived with him, fought with him and sacrificed their lives, will be together for the first time in 50 years.

Under normal circumstances we would have started planning this a year ago, secured thousands of dollars in sponsorships, and had a team of people working on the event.
But I'm just a guy with a full plate and a passion to have this event. I helped carry Milton's body out of the jungle.

Meet the third platoon Company B, 203rd Infantry, 173rd Airborne Brigade or those of us that we can find..
For about 50 years I have been working on contacting my fellow squad members. So far we have found five of us and we are committed to gathering for the first time in 50 years to honor Milton Olive and all Vietnam Veterans and their families.
On October 22, 2015, in honor of Milton Olive being the first African American to be awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor in the Vietnam war, we are having a ceremony in Olive Park in Chicago from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Part of my goal for this event is to reunite our squad and our platoon and to have the appreciation for all Vietnam veterans, their families and surviving spouses honored nationally.
